The ‘Lasting Values’ exhibition presents a rich art collection of DDOR, which consists of 395 works of fine and applied art, mostly by artists from Serbia, but also from the region ‒ Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Northern Macedonia and two works by foreign artists from Denmark and the United States.
In cooperation with one of the oldest cultural institutions in Serbia, the Gallery of Matica Srpska, this collection will be presented to the public within the week of visual arts of the Kaleidoscope of Culture, with the aim of emphasizing the value of cooperation between culture and economy.
The ‘Lasting Values’ exhibition will open on 24 September at 8:22 p.m. The event also marks the gala opening of the week of visual arts of the Kaleidoscope of Culture in the Gallery Square. The audience will be able to enjoy the projections of the paintings on the façade of the Matica Srpska Gallery, while at 9 p.m., light installations will be shown on the DDOR building.
The exhibition will be open in the Gallery of Matica Srpska until 16 October.
It is common practice for large companies with a long tradition to contribute to the preservation of cultural heritage and to participate in the cultural life of the community within which they operate. Since its foundation, DDOR has provided a positive example of cooperation between the economic and cultural sectors, and one of the aspects of that cooperation is the provision of support to contemporary art production. By cooperating directly with artists and supporting art colonies, the company has ensured the continuity of artistic creation over decades, including challenging and turbulent years, as evidenced by an extensive collection of works of art.
The fourth Kaleidoscope of Culture will be held from 2 September until 8 October 2021. During five weeks, this yearlong project of culture of togetherness that connects artists, cultural institutions, non-governmental organisations, citizens and visitors through various processes, will present five types of art. At the end of summer, the Kaleidoscope of Culture will present spaces and programmes throughout the city, promoting a unique image of the diversity of Novi Sad.
