Novi Sad is becoming a centre of applied arts for a week, and this year, instead of SPENS, the program will be held in the District and the network of Cultural stations. The week od applied arts brings together the design community of Serbia and the region, representing European practices. As legacies of the city, after the year of the European capital of culture title, the District and Cultural stations become a modern  Design Pavilion that inspires and educates designers and visual artists, fostering the development of the local design scene through programmes that show new trends in the field of graphic design, product design, fashion, photography, animation, and street art.

The Design Pavilion was the main event during applied arts week. The topic of the 2022 edition was the echo. The programme answered questions about our identity, what it is that leaves a mark on us and what kind of mark we leave, as well as the limits of reality and subjectivism.

During the applied arts week, the exhibitions ‘Design for Culture’, ‘Swiss Style Now’, and ‘Finnish Innovative Design’, which comprised the works by the most significant representatives of the local, regional, European and world design scene, including Pentagram, the biggest independent design studio in the world, were presented.
