Predstava „Priče iz duše III”

‘Priče iz duše III’ (en. Stories from the Heart), an interactive play by Vojana Obradović, was created based on the experience of users of psychiatric services. The play will be held within the performing arts week of the Kaleidoscope of Culture, in the Svilara Cultural Station on 17 September.

The goal of the play is empowering the participants themselves and their potential for a healthy and creative life, but also the intention of directing the audience’s attention to the difficulties the users of psychiatric services face, as well as encouraging solidarity in order to prevent discrimination and stigmatisation against these people, in order to enable them to live with dignity and as equal as other members of a society.

The play connects and transforms audience and actors with the help of modern methodology, engaged theatre (forum theatre), and presents the theatre of life that makes us think, feel, have sympathy and move on in order to take joint actions and create a healthy and more tolerant society.

The play opens a space for dialogue and erases borders between the stage and the audience, thus inviting the audience members to become performers on stage and active seekers for constructive solutions for problematic situations within the play. Therefore, they can change the flow of the play, and life as well, since the stories from the heart present real, tangible stories, and the theatre event presents the real-life exercise.

The fourth ‘Kaleidoscope of Culture’ will be held from 2 September until 8 October 2021. During five weeks, this yearlong project of culture of togetherness that connects artists, cultural institutions, non-governmental organisations, citizens and visitors through various processes, will present five types of art. At the end of summer, the Kaleidoscope of Culture will present spaces and programmes throughout the city, promoting a unique image of the diversity of Novi Sad.
