Limenka Theatre Fest

Limenka Theatre Fest will be held within the Kaleidoscope of Culture, from 17 to 19 September. The theatre programme, which is intended for children, young people and their parents, will be implemented in the Liman, Mlin, Rumenka and Egység cultural stations.

‘Veče sa njom’ stand-up comedy by Mariana Aranđelović will open the festival in the Liman Cultural Station on 17 September at 7.30 p.m.

The programme continues the next day, on Saturday, 18 September, when two plays for children will be performed, ‘Pippi Longstocking’ in CS Mlin at 10 a.m. and ‘How a tree and a flower saved the world’ at 5.30 p.m. in CS Rumenka. Both plays are performed by the ‘Čarapa’ children’s theatre.

On the last day, 19 September, the Limenka Theatre Fest will close with the dance performance ‘Aladdin’, performed by the ‘Una saga Sebika’ theatre, in CS Egység at 4 p.m.

The ticket for each show is 1 ALU COIN, a socially responsible currency that you get by bringing five empty cans per person, including children.

By bringing a larger number of cans, you get more alu coins and a chance to buy notebooks (2 alu coins, or 10 cans), bags (3 alu coins) and books (3-7 alu coins).

The Limenka Theatre Fest originated from the ‘Limenkica – ulaznica’ event. For 12 years, as the only manifestation in the world, it has in an unusual way combined the education of children and young people on environmental protection and recycling and theatre art. So far, over 70,000 children and parents have participated in this event, and more than half a million cans of drinks have been collected.

The fourth Kaleidoscope of Culture will be held from 2 September until 8 October 2021. During five weeks, this yearlong project of culture of togetherness that connects artists, cultural institutions, non-governmental organisations, citizens and visitors through various processes, will present five types of art. At the end of summer, the Kaleidoscope of Culture will present spaces and programmes throughout the city, promoting a unique image of the diversity of Novi Sad.
