By using the interesting wordplay in the name of the project, Rođenice try to present the multilayerdness and complexity of tradition and traditional music in modern culture within the Rawđenice project that will be presented in the Egység Cultural Station, on 12 September at 8 p.m.
The concept of rawness has different meanings, and it is mostly used in everyday life when we talk about raw food. In anthropology, it refers to natural things that are not culturally shaped.
If we direct our attention to performance, a significant component of music life, rawness gets a more important place when it comes to its determination. It primarily refers to ‘raw’ interpretation of traditional songs with the wish to point to a particular phenomenon of contemporary music interpretation. The third technological revolution have had a significant impact on music interpretation – we witnessed that music is processed in many different ways and is promoted without any mistake, i.e., as a perfect product.
The Rawđenice project refers to the fact that music is a living phenomenon, inseparable from the performing context, thus consisting of the listeners, error and surroundings, as well as mood of the performer and audience. This is why Rawđenice album was recorded via Zoom, offering a unique musical experience to the audience.
The fourth ‘Kaleidoscope of Culture’ will be held from 2 September until 8 October 2021.
