‘Museum of the Future’ is an art project by Željko Grulović, which the author will present in the form of an ambient installation, on 2 and 3 October at 4 p.m. in Detelinara (block area along Rumenačka Street between numbers 25 and 29), during the week of visual arts.
The ‘Museum of the Future’ does not have a physical location, duration, it does not deal with recognizing and collecting current phenomena, but with potential endings or new beginnings.
The project critically re-examines the rigidity and bureaucracy of institutions, explores attitudes and narratives related to the current moment of general uncertainty in which we live and together with the audience searches for the answer – can we imagine a different future?
The performing part of the project is envisaged as a simulation of a museum, a research centre, but at the same time a pseudo-scientific, i.e. false institution.
Željko Grulović is a graduated psychologist who has been actively participating in the field of culture and art for more than 20 years. He is currently the host of the Kontekst Savremene podcast, dedicated to contemporary art practice. He leads several projects (Postnostalgia, ReKapitulacija, Grafička zadruga), as well as the art section and performance Totalna rasprodaja umetnosti.
The fourth ‘Kaleidoscope of Culture’ will be held from 2 September until 8 October 2021. During five weeks, this yearlong project of culture of togetherness that connects artists, cultural institutions, non-governmental organisations, citizens and visitors through various processes, will present five types of art. At the end of summer, the Kaleidoscope of Culture will present spaces and programmes throughout the city, promoting a unique image of the diversity of Novi Sad.
