INFANT

This year, INFANT – International theatre of alternative and new theatre, will be held from 2 until 5 September, in an open area of Creative District, withing 4-day opening of the Kaleidoscope of Culture.

The main programme of the 48th INFANT is focused on local and regional production. Therefore, the following plays will compete for the award: ‘Post Office’ (Slovene National Theatre Maribor), ‘Spectacle’ (Studio Contemporary Dance Company, Zagreb), ‘The Goalkeeper’s Fear of the Penalty’ (Serbian National Theatre, Novi Sad) and ‘As If the End Were Not Quite Near’ (BITEF theatre).

This year’s jury members are: Ista Stepanov, ballet master and choreographer; Nenad Pećinar, theatre and film actor, and Nejc Gazvoda, Slovene writer, screenwriter and director.

Zijah Sokolović, the famous actor and director, will officially open and close the festival. During the opening, he will perform part of the ‘Međuigre’ cabaret, while he will perform the ‘Lijevo desno glumac’ play on the last day of opening, on 5 September.


The fourth Kaleidoscope of Culture will be held from 2 September until 8 October 2021. During five weeks, this yearlong project of culture of togetherness that connects artists, cultural institutions, non-governmental organisations, citizens and visitors through various processes, will present five types of art. At the end of summer, the Kaleidoscope of Culture will present spaces and programmes throughout the city, promoting a unique image of the diversity of Novi Sad.
