World-famous jazz musician and Grammy winner Jason Miles will perform on 16 September in the District as part of the Kaleidoscope of Culture.
Miles, known for his innovative and genre-defying approach to music, has earned a reputation as a trailblazer in the industry working alongside Miles Davis, Marcus Miller, Luther Vandross, and many others. On the road with his Electric Quartet Jason presents some of his most famous tunes as well as materials from his brand new release, Miles to Miles Live.
Joined by an exciting lineup consisting of guitarist David Gilmore (Wayne Shorter, Christian McBride, Dave Douglas) bassist Reggie Washington (Steve Coleman, Branford Marsalis, Oliver Lake), and Patrick Dorcean (Ida Nielsen, Jef Lee Johnson, Zap Mama) on drums, Miles brings his New York roots into the future with a fresh, funky sound that is new, but undeniably his.
