\u2018Heritage Walks\u2019<\/strong> – new stories about Novi Sad. We will discover the less known cultural heritage of the city from the citizens of Novi Sad view, their stories, memories and personal archive.<\/p>\n

The citizens of Novi Sad can expect six walks in September within the \u2018Heritage Walks\u2019 project that is part of this year\u2019s \u2018Kaleidoscope of Culture\u2019 programme.<\/p>\n

The first in a row called the \u2018Retrospective of the Urban Gardening in Novi Sad\u2019 is scheduled for 1 September<\/strong> at 7 p.m. in the Egys\u00e9g Cultural Station<\/strong> (Antona \u010cehova Street no. 4) This is the third walk that gives the citizens of Novi Sad an insight into how former urban gardens looked like through the multimedia exhibition consisting of posters, video and animated material. Epecially interesting way to animate the audience is the ability to use VR equipment that will allow a little virtual journey through the urban gardens. The event is implemented by the \u2018Creative Industry \u2013 Viridis\u2019 Association and the \u2018Novi Sad 2021 \u2013 European Capital of Culture\u2019.<\/p>\n

Who are \u2018old\u2019 and \u2018new\u2019 citizens of Karlovci and what stories are hidden in their yards and houses?<\/h4>\n

What is the myth about \u2018old\u2019 and \u2018new\u2019 citizens of Karlovci and what are their cultural differences? The citizens of Karlovci will open the doors of their homes and yards and reveal the hidden stories. They will share their personal memories and memories of everyday life in Sremski Karlovci and its inhabitants.<\/p>\n

The \u2018My Karlovci Story<\/strong>\u2019 walk is implemented by the Society for cherishing traditions and development of Sremski Karlovci in cooperation with the \u2018Novi Sad 2021 \u2013 European Capital of Culture\u2019. The gathering place is Patrijarha Raja\u010di\u0107a Street no. 3<\/strong>, and the walks will start at 3 p.m<\/strong>. The third walk is planned in October.<\/p>\n

Take a peek into the Mihiz\u2019s House \u2013 Irig reveals its history and local stories<\/h4>\n

The \u2018Back to the Future<\/strong>\u2019 \u2019walks will be implemented in Irig in September, when local stories, legends and historical events will be revealed. The final point of the walk is the home of Borislav Mihajlovi\u0107 Mihiz, literary critic and screenwriter, which the visitors will have the opportunity to visit and hear stories about his life.<\/p>\n

Movie stories about Novi Sad<\/h4>\n

How did Novi Sad look like through the camera of the members of the Kino Club in the middle of the last century? What can we learn about Novi Sad from the film heritage? The starting point is the Small Art Gallery of the Cultural Centre of Novi Sad<\/strong> (Mihajlo Pupin Boulevard no. 9), and the final point is the \u2018Bulevar Books\u2019 bookstore where the movie projection will be held.<\/p>\n

As in the previous walk implemented by the Kino Club, the focus is on amateur filmmaking and film heritage, which also records the history of the city. We will see how the centre of Novi Sad and the streets around the Fish Market in the late \u201950s looked like and how the university centre and Limani looked like during the \u201960s and \u201970s in the second edition of the \u2018Kinoplov<\/strong>\u2019. We will take a walk along the Quay to Oficirac and the Petrovaradin Fortress. The event is implemented by the Kino Club Novi Sad and the \u2018Novi Sad 2021 \u2013 European Capital of Culture\u2019.<\/p>\n

Stories about new spaces and architecture at the end of month<\/h4>\n

At the end of the month, the \u2018Impulse\u2019 Performing Arts Festival turns atomic shelters into gathering places for the creation of new stories and ideas, all through the design of spatial installations and urban furniture made of wood.<\/p>\n

The \u2018Heritage Walks\u2019 will pay special attention to the architecture heritage of Novi Sad during the last weekend in September. This event will be implemented by the Association for creative engagement of young people \u2018Dom B-612\u2019. Stories of significant buildings will show the cultural richness of Novi Sad through drawing, photography and collages.<\/p>\n

The \u2018Kaleidoscope of Culture\u2019 is the programme arch of the \u2018Nov Sad 2021 \u2013 European Capital of Culture\u2019 project, which turns Novi Sad into the \u2018city of scene\u2019 through the culture of communion, at more than 80 locations from 24 to 30 August.<\/p>\n

It connects spaces and programmes, as well as the actors themselves: the \u2018Kaleidoscope\u2019 presents a unique image of the diversity of Novi Sad through multiple arts, with its cultural institutions, non-institutional scene, artists and citizens themselves.
