The seventh Kaleidoscope of Culture,<\/strong> the most significant artistic event in this part of Europe, will take place in Novi Sad from September 5 to October 5.<\/strong> This year’s festival will showcase some of the biggest names in the global art scene, prominent figures of Serbian culture, and emerging young talents across the key cultural venues of the European Capital of Culture \u2013 the District and the Network of Cultural Stations.<\/strong> This year\u2019s program revolves around the theme of identity, embodied in the artistic message “Svoji”<\/strong> (“Our Own”). Over five weeks, numerous international and local artists will celebrate five art forms: applied arts, performing arts, visual arts, literature, and architecture.<\/p>\n

The festival will start with a grand opening on Korzo, featuring Lana Zorjan,<\/strong> this year\u2019s recipient of the prestigious Classical Music Award \u2013 Discovery Award,<\/strong> alongside conductor, composer, and pianist Maximilian Haberstock<\/strong> and the Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra<\/strong>. On September 5,<\/strong> they will captivate the audience with classical music, temporarily halting traffic on one of Novi Sad\u2019s boulevards \u2013 Mihajlo Pupin Boulevard.<\/p>\n

The program continues with a week dedicated to applied arts<\/strong>, featuring collaborators of world-renowned figures like Bjork, David Bowie, Naomi Campbell, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Diana Ross \u2013 Andrew Melchior and Andrew Jose.<\/strong> From September 6 to 12,<\/strong> over 90 artists<\/strong> will present their work through 10 exhibitions and 7 music programs,<\/strong> including fashion shows, performances, and workshops.<\/p>\n

Next is a week of literature<\/strong>, which will honor the centenary of the birth of one of the greatest writers from our region \u2013 Aleksandar Ti\u0161ma<\/strong>. A large new media pavilion<\/strong> will be set up in the District from September 13 to 19<\/strong>, featuring over 100 artists and combining several exhibitions, performances, and installations.<\/p>\n

The performing arts week<\/strong> will feature Ibrahim Maalouf<\/strong>, one of today\u2019s leading trumpeters and a French-Lebanese instrumentalist and composer nominated for a Grammy Award.<\/strong> His performance follows sold-out concerts at the largest French concert hall Accor Arena<\/em>, Carnegie Hall in New York, and Olympia in Paris.<\/em> This week of performing arts will run from September 20 to 26.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the week dedicated to architecture,<\/strong> the winner of the Pritzker Prize<\/strong>, often considered the Nobel Prize of architecture, Japanese architect Riken Yamamoto<\/strong>, will visit Novi Sad. The 2024 Pritzker laureate will be joined by prominent regional architects during the Architecture Week, from September 27 to October 3.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The final week of this year\u2019s Kaleidoscope of Culture, starting October 4<\/strong>\u00a0will focus on visual arts.<\/strong> It will feature films by some of the most significant figures in Serbian cinema, including Aleksandar Petrovi\u0107, \u017delimir \u017dilnik, Du\u0161an Makavejev and others, <\/strong>known for their controversial and banned works. The exhibition “The Dark Wave” will pay tribute to the Black Wave, one of the most important socio-artistic movements of the 20th century.<\/p>\n

The Kaleidoscope of Culture has positioned itself as a unique cultural program in Europe, earning prestigious awards, including recognition for the best cultural trend brand.<\/p>\n
